7 Stylish Winter Flowers

January 3rd, 2009

Winter Outdoor weddings are becoming popular year round and many brides-to-be have decided to go with the outdoor scene because it gives a pure, romantic feel to the wedding ceremony.

However, many future brides and wedding planners think, unlike spring, there aren’t many flowers to choose from in the winter. I am here to put that rumor to rest– here are a few winter flowers that will help your outdoor wedding ceremony “bloom” into an extraordinary occasion.

The Amaryllis is a great winter flower that can be found in red or white. This particular flower is stunning but great for that bride-to-be on a budget!

The Anemone is normally in season the first part of winter and it comes in blue, red, pink or white.
Daffodils are in season from January until June. It comes in a vibrant yellow and it will provide a splash of color to your outdoor winter wedding.
Blue Forget me-nots are an excellent choice for Jack Frost/Winter-wonderland themed weddings.

When you think of one of traditional Christmas flowers, the Holly comes to mind. The Holly is a must have flower for Christmas themed weddings.

The Jasmine is another flower that many people think is a spring flower, but is actually a winter flower. This fragrant flower will add that extraordinary romantic touch to your ceremony.

The Star of Bethlehem is a gorgeous white flower, that could be used with a Christmas themed wedding and it also makes a terrific decoration filler.

Tulips are fantastic winter flowers and they come in a variety of colors: red, pink, white, purple, yellow and orange. The tulip is in season from December until the end of April. With the tulips amazing colors, it can add some zest to your wedding!

You are now all set with a great variety of winter flowers to choose from! Make sure you pick the idea that goes with your outdoor winter wedding theme because remember—the perfect flowers will add a unique sense of style and touch of elegance to help create an awesome ambiance!

As we close out 2008, we have one last best-of list. This list is a best-of compilation across all cakes and cupcakes we posted in 2008. The cakes were chosen based on a combination number of views and number of comments.

We want to thank our families, friends, employees, customers and visitors to this blog for helping make 2008 a great success. All in all it was a successful year for Pink Cake Box and I want to thank everyone for their support!

I was really impressed with the entire setup for this Bar Mitzvah at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ. The event’s theme was “pen & ink” and we hand painted panels on the cake with designs and numbers to resemble a calligrapher’s work.
